I'm pretty bad at keeping up with this blogging thing...

So Dom busted his foot down the Cape on the 4th and it's sort of put our summer on hold. He hasn't been able to get on the bike since then. We're hoping that by next week he'll be back on.

Carolyn and Harris's house is pretty much the shit. They're antique fanatics and they're filling the house with some amazing pieces. It feels so comfy and homey already.

We found a place a few minutes down the road from them that we're trying to rent. It's so perfect for us, it's almost scary. The landlords are awesome people. They all ride motorcycles. They're young with an adorable son. Really sweet family. I really hope we get it. The yard is not to be believed. Plus, we can get a dog! So keep your fingers crossed for us!

There's some other big stuff going on, but nothing I really want to talk about here. At least not yet. So that's about it for now. Hopefully, I will be back with some good news by next week!

It's been awhile...

and considering I just started this blog, that's probably not a good sign. I really want to keep up with it, but seriously, who has the time?

So let's see...what's new? Dom and I have started a new job. We're mystery shoppers. I can't talk too much about it here because of confidentiality issues, but we're really looking forward to it. It could be alot of fun. We have our first assignment in a week or so. I'm excited.

We got the new motorcycle. Things have been too crazy to get pictures of it uploaded, but I will soon. It's amazing. I took a ride on it with the previous owner when he brought it to our house. It was the most amazing experience. I can't wait for Dom to have some miles under him so I can ride with him.

Our BFF's bought a house. They close (finger's crossed, knock on wood) next week. We should be moving them in over the weekend. WOOHOO! It's pretty exciting.

Well, off to bed for me. I really am going to try to keep up with this. Night, all!

It's funny how things happen...

So we were all set to buy this motorcycle from MOM's. We were planning on going yesterday to finalize the sale. Halfway through the day I started to feel like shit and so did Dom. We decided to stay home and go today instead. We happen to look on Craig's List just to check one last time for a better deal. We found one. A Honda Shadow ACE 1100, fully loaded. It's gorgeous. It has a custom paint job, V&H pipes, Cobra driver and passenger floorboards and saddle bags. We got it cheaper than any of the other bikes we had seen. The best part is, it comes with riding buddies. The guy we bought it off of had one request. He wants to see the bike riding with his group. It makes me feel better knowing The Husband will be riding with experienced people. They'll protect him from the other assholes on the road.

Pictures to come soon.

The new bike

After we got rid of the Honda Shadow Spirit we decided to go to a place called Motorcycles of Manchester on Saturday. We were impressed immediately. A salesman by the name of Roger approached us so we told him what we were looking for. He was so laid back and cool. He showed us a few bikes. There was one that we were very interested in. Roger recommended that we wait a little while and see what else comes in. He was afraid we didn't love this bike enough. It was cool to have a salesman tell us to wait. Most of them want to rush you through your purchase and get you out the door so they can move on to the next commission. Roger took his time and gave us his full attention. He was clearly knowledgeable about the bikes. If there was a question he couldn't answer, he went to the service techs to find out.

The Husband was checking the website everyday for changes in inventory. He found a few bikes that he liked so he called Roger around 11am. The bikes we in their warehouse which was in a different town. They got the bikes there before 4pm. Nice. We went there when I got out of work. Roger showed us the bike he thought we would love. He was right. Holy hell. It has everything we wanted. Saddle bags, floor boards for both of us, Cobra pipes and a nice comfy seat for my bum. It's amazing. The pictures that I took today don't do it justice so I won't bother posting them. I will get better ones tomorrow so I'll post them.

Thank you, Roger and Motorcycles of Manchester. This was the best shopping experience ever.

Things like this happen all the time

OK. So we bought a motorcycle, right? We got the title and were looking it over when we noticed something. There were 10,000 more miles on the title than the odometer. Interesting. So, The Husband calls the dealership and asks them what the hell is going on. They, of course, start to freak out because title fraud is a crime. We brought the bike back to them so they could check it over. Turns out the odometer had been replaced and whoever replaced it didn't bother to correct the mileage. Nice one. We've grown tired of dealing with these people so we're getting our money back. Now we have to find another bike.

On a side note, we went to look at an apartment the other night in Middleboro. The place was the size of a shoe box. We wound up having an interesting conversation with the realtor about prostitutes and strippers. That was fun.

More bikes and apartments to look at tomorrow and if we're lucky, we'll get some really good news from our BFF's. Keep your fingers crossed!

On a more positive note...

The Husband and I are moving. It's one of the reasons I started this blog. We need to get out of this place! We're currently living in the town we grew up in. We had a chance to move into a house two doors down from my parents who were still living in my childhood home, so we jumped on it.

Three years later, my parents have retired to Cape Cod and this town has changed drastically in terrible ways. It's time to go. We have our first appointment to look at some places on Tuesday. Keep your fingers crossed!

Letter to a Scumbag

I can't believe after all we've done for you, you can live with what you've done to us. How many times did he pull you from the edge? And for what? He should have let you fall, but you were his "brother". "Family".

You disrespected us at every turn and still, we took you back in. You were "family". I kept telling him you weren't worth it. You were a horrible friend and only cared about your own selfish needs. You are truly a scumbag and I'm glad I got to finally tell you that. The best part is, your karma has already gotten you. Look where your life has gone. I pity you. You are utterly pathetic and a complete disappointment.

I thank God we have people that we can actually trust. I don't know where our heads would be right now without them.

P.S. I am SO happy your ex-fiance got to see that go down while her amazing husband was 20 feet away.

I am a Dink. I think my Ipod knows it.

So because of the new aquisition The Husband and I have made, we were having a conversation about how "haahdcoah" ("hardcore" for those who aren't from the Boston area) I am. I work in construction, drink whiskey straight from the bottle, have a tattoo and now own a motorcycle. I'm pretty bad ass, right?

Then Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" came on my Ipod. Bad ass? Not so much.

Holy frick! We bought a motorcycle!

Life seems to be changing at a rapid pace so I've decided to keep a record of it in a blog.

Today was ridiculous all around. I swear things like this only happen to us. More on that later though. For now, I will just introduce the newest member of our family.

NEWBABY!

She is a 2006 VT750 Honda Shadow Spirit and she is beautiful. As with every large purchase we make, I'm having a bit of a panic attack about spending the money. But I have a feeling it will be well worth it. We actually got a really good deal on it thanks to The Husband's sick bargaining skills.
